Tutorial:
Ribbon Necklace
The Inspiration:
Necklace from Nina that is now on sale for $102.99
Ribbon Necklace from Ann Taylor that runs for $29.88
The images were taken from the stores website.
What you'll need:
1. Long layering necklaces you already have
2. Some leftover ribbon
3. A pair of scissors
Step 1:
Lay the necklace or necklaces (if you are going to use more than one like I did) flat.
Step 2:
Twist the necklaces into a figure eight at the middle of the necklaces.
Step 3:
Fold the necklace over onto itself at the twist in the middle so there are many layers.
Step 4:
Cut a piece of ribbon around 36". This length may vary depending on how long or short you want the necklace. Loop the ribbon through one side of the necklace and tie a knot making sure the ends of the ribbon are even.
Step 5:
Loop the ribbon through the other end of the necklace and use the ends of the ribbon to tie a bow. You can use this end to adjust the necklace once you put the necklace on.
Step 6:
Clean the ends of the ribbon by cutting some of the excess off at an angle. Cutting it at an angle will help prevent the ribbon from fraying.

What it looks like on:
This weeks post is more about recycling the jewelry you already have. Turning your long layering necklaces into a stylish short one and allowing you to convert it back to a long one for future uses. Experiment with layering different types of necklaces you already own and using different types of ribbon. This is a fun way to get new jewelry without having to spend any money.
Good luck, have fun, & enjoy!
